Your first visit begins with a thorough consultation to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options. A friendly team member will take digital X-rays and intraoral photos as prescribed by your dentist. Next, a comprehensive periodontal (gum) exam will be conducted as part of our detailed evaluation. These images are displayed on a screen, allowing us to review your results with you in real-time. She will then recommend the appropriate dental cleaning and any necessary treatments. If time permits, we can even complete your cleaning during the same visit.

Meet
Dr. Harry Pascal
Dr. Harry Pascal is the founding doctor of Stuyvesant Dental. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in microbiology and bio-physics. Dr. Pascal received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the NYU School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the New York County Dental Society. Dr. Pascal has been treating patients, at this location, for more than 35 years.
With an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Harry Pascal offers an entire array of dental services using the most modern techniques and instruments, including the use of Digital Radiographs and the Dental Laser. He was one of the first dentists to entirely discontinue the use of silver/mercury fillings. Dr. Pascal has always been dedicated to following the strictest safety and sterilization techniques for his patients. This became evident when a producer for a study conducted by 60 Minutes, on Dental Sterilization, was so impressed with Dr. Harry Pascal that she brought her own mother in for dental care.
To ensure the safety and success of the placement of dental implants, Stuyvesant Dental has a periodontal specialist on staff. Sometimes it is necessary to correct the position of teeth before implant placement. Dr. Pascal is trained and certified in the use of Invisalign. Both cosmetic enhancements and dental health benefits are achieved using this advanced orthodontic technique.

Dr. Sumner Schwarz
Dr. Sumner Schwarz is a Restorative / Root Canal / Full Service dentist at Stuyvesant Dental. He was born and raised in Stuyvesant Town. Dr. Schwarz received his BA in biology from the University of Rochester, an MS in medical microbiology from Texas Tech University, and a DDS from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery.
Upon graduating dental school in the top of his class, Dr. Schwarz was recognized by the dental honor fraternity Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He also received awards as an outstanding student in oral pathology and periodontics, and as the most proficient in general dentistry.
Dr. Schwarz completed a residency in general dentistry at Jamaica Hospital, and continues to educate himself through dental study clubs and ongoing education courses. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and the Tri-County Dental Society.
Dr. Sumner Schwarz offers comprehensive modern dentistry, with an emphasis on one-visit root canal therapy, dental implants, non-surgical treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, and aesthetic crowns and bridges.
