Practicing Modern and Safe Dentistry
About Us
At Stuyvesant Dental Associates, we utilize the most up-to-date equipment and proven procedures. Our dental practice has consistently been providing the most effective and safe dental methods. In 1984, Stuyvesant Dental became one of the first dental practices to stop using mercury/amalgam fillings. In 1994, 60 Minutes conducted an inquiry, spurred by the HIV epidemic, into the adequacy of sterilization procedures used in New York dental offices. After visiting hundreds of dental offices, the producer of the project found Stuyvesant Dental to be among the safest. She was so impressed that she brought her own mother into Stuyvesant Dental to become a patient.
Digital Radiography
Stuyvesant Dental Associates is proud to offer digital radiography (digital X-rays) at our modern practice. Digital radiography exposes patients to far less radiation than traditional X-rays. It also offers instant results and clearer enlargements of dental images.
Implant Dentistry
Stuyvesant Dental has been successfully placing dental implants for over 15 years. Dental implants are generally considered to be the best way to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium post (like a tooth root) that is surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum line. Once the bone joins with the implant (osseointegration), a crown (artificial tooth) may then be placed onto the implant(s). This allows us to mount replacement teeth, sometimes on the same day, or a bridge into that area. An implant doesn't come loose like a denture can. Dental implants also benefit general oral health because they do not have to be anchored to other teeth, like bridges. At our office you can be sure that your tooth replacement will be handled competently at every stage.
